Arnold's Cat Map

While I was on Wikipedia, I accidentally came across the page for Arnold's Cat Map. I was immediately intrigued by the name and decided to see what it is about.

Turns out, it is an example of chaotic maps. It transforms a space in a seemingly chaotic way. More interestingly, it can be applied on to discrete spaces, and after enough applications the original feature space will be recovered. This is actually where the name comes from. The first demonstration of this was on the picture of a cat.

So, I decided to have a bit of a fun with it and code this myself. Here are the results on a picture of a Siamese cat.
